CEFIN Type of hybrid: Three cross
FAO group: 290
Use: Silage, CCM

Properties:

Early to mid-early hybrid for the production of high-quality silage
During a three-year testing (registration tests) in Slovakia, this hybrid showed the following results in silage experiments:
– the yield of total dry matter - 18.5 t per hectare / 108 % to checks mean
– the yield of corn-cobs dry matter - 8.5 t per hectare /106 % to checks mean
– the yield of green mass - 61.4 t per hectare / 116 % to checks mean
Good yields of grain as well as high yield potential make this hybrid suitable for the production of high-quality silage; the suitability of this hybrid for grain production will also be verified
The hybrid showed good resistance against diseases and pests
It is suitable for silage in warmer areas
Very good initial development
This hybrid is for intensive silage production, providing high yields of both total dry matte and corn-cobs dry matter
Very good digestibility provided that respective requirements for high-quality silage process are fulfilled

Description of the plant

The plant is 245-265 cm tall with cobs set at a height of approximately 80–90 cm, the stalk has slight to mild anthocyanin colour
Cobs are slightly conical to cylindrical, very densely covered with grain, with a good husk cover including tip cover
Yellow-orange, dent-type grain, with a mild to distinct hole; the crown of kernel is yellow

Recommended plant density:
80.000–85.000 plants/ha
